AnkChakPull

Before word: My cousin is in first year of her college and she has to perform a skit. So I am writing this story for her, with only lady characters.

Story:

Three women from a village, who were soothsayers, were walking in the desert. They were Ankamma, Chakkamma and Pullamma.  Being tired of long walk, they sat under a tree.

Ankamma – “Do you think we’re gonna have customers on the other side of the desert?”

Chakkamma – “Yeah! No one believes us on this side of the desert. It is the best option for now. If not for Pullamma, we would have still stayed there”

Pullamma – “What did I do? I just foretold to a person who came to me, that the person will marry a beautiful princess. You too lie all the time to the people who ask you about their future”

Chakkamma – “But to say that to a 90-year old and that too a woman. It’s disgusting. You better go to an eye-doctor first”

Pullamma – “Yeah, and you are saying as if I was the whole reason for the villagers to throw us out. You foretold that a hero will be born to save the villagers from the tyranny of the Landlord, when the person who came to you is the landlord in disguise. And you Ankamma, you are no less”

Ankamma – “Hey look, there is a person crossing the desert, let’s go to her and tell her future”

Chakkamma  - “Ankamma, don’t be too excited”

Pullamma – “Chakkamma, let Ankamma go. Ankamma you go first, I will follow you slowly”

Before Pullamma’s words ended, Ankamma ran to the person walking

Ankamma – “Know your future, just for 10 dollars”

Person – “I know my future. Let me go on my way”

Ankamma – “Oh yeah, you think you know your future. Let me be clear on one thing, now itself God told me that something unexpected is going to happen to you with in the next one hour. And unless you give me 10 dollars, I am not gonna tell you what it is”

At this the person opened his hood. It was a woman, carrying dagger. She caught Ankamma, put a knife around her neck and

Person – “Tell me, who will win the football world cup; Argentina or Germany?”

Ankamma – “How can I know? Please leave me, I beg you”

Person – “You can consult God na, tell me who’s gonna win”

Pullamma who was slowly observing all this, ran back to Chakkamma and told her about the situation. When Pullamma and Chakkamma came back, only Ankamma was there, counting the dollars.

Pullamma – “What? Nothing happened to you?”

Ankamma  - “Why should something happen to me ?”

Chakkamma – “Pullamma told me that the person tried to slit your throat”

Ankamma – “I don’t know. May be she was dreaming. Look at it, I got ten dollars”

Pullamma – “Let’s share it”

Ankamma – “No way, I earned it. If you want, earn it yourself and keep the whole money. I won’t ask for share”

And again, another person started walking that way. Pullamma, without telling any of them, thinking they might grab the chance, ran directly to the person, and

Pullamma – “Know your future, just for 10 dollars”

Person – “I know my future. Let me go on my way”

Pullamma – “Oh yeah, you think you know your future. Let me be clear on one thing, now itself God told me that something unexpected is going to happen to you with in the next one hour. And unless you give me 10 dollars, I am not gonna tell you what it is”

At this the person opened his hood. It was a woman, carrying dagger. She caught Pullamma, put a knife around her neck and

Person – “Tell me, who will win the football world cup? Argentina or Germany?”

Pullamma – “How can I know? Please leave me, I beg you”

Person – “You can consult God na, tell me who’s gonna win”

Pullamma understood that for the first time in her life, she foresaw the future and now she was not in a position to control it. The person cut Pullamma’s throat, took her jewelry and ran away.

And lo, the story is over

Done

A man died. People gathered around him. A bike with flames is near him. A road accident occurred on highway number-34. Peter, a human rights activist and an active member of Society and You organisation came to the scene.

Peter - "Is he dead ?"

One of them - "Yes"

Peter - "Humanity is lost in the world. What the hell have you been doing, before he died? Why didn't you take him to the hospital ?"

One of them - "He is dead, before anyone of us arrived"

Peter - "Then you should have arrived before he is dead. Are you so much busy in your life ? Do you have a task as important than saving a man's life ? Why didn't you come earlier ? Come on, give me the answer ?"

One of them - "Well, why didn't you come earlier ?"

Peter - "I was busy protesting for human rights. I am doing something for the people. But you, you people do everything for yourself. Don't you have even a minute bit of humanity. You guinea brats and pigs"

Everyone gathered around Peter.

Peter - "I know you are gonna say sorry to me, and pledge that from today on you will change. But I don't want your sorry. A man's life is already lost. You fools and sons of bitches.."

Before he completed the statement, they made him bend down and beat him to the pulp.

Moral : If you have humanity, help others. Don't lecture about it too much. Your actions are enough to inspire people and make them help others

Re-man (Part-2)

Story :
The child was slowly taken out, cutting the umbilical cord, but nothing happened to Jenny. Her eyes filled with tears of joy were now looking at the child. A miracle, Brad felt and bent to kiss on Jenny’s fore head

Jenny – “No way, now only little Brad can kiss me, go away”
Brad – “Mmmm”

Suddenly Jenny gave a huge cry and everything in Brad’s world stopped moving. The opened mouth, terror filled eyes, a straight line on a monitor showing heart beat – these were the last of Jenny’s . There was a small paper, beside Jenny’s bed

“              Boy – John
                Girl – Ann

Brad understood. He took the child and drove to Fred’s house. Fred is the friend of Brad, who was married six years ago, but wasn’t blessed with a child. He rang the door bell

Fred – “Brad, I am sorry of what I have heard”
Brad – “Fred, take this child. Raise him as your child. But name him John; this is Jenny’s last wish”
Fred – “Thank you Brad, but why? No father would give his child away, on the first day he was born”
Brad – “Look Fred, No matter how or what, he is responsible for Jenny’s death. I don’t want to see the reason for my love’s death growing and playing infront of me. But I have seen Jenny’s love on him and for a second when Jenny looked at the child, I felt like she loved him more than me. Take this kid, and raise him as your child”
Fred – “It’s ok Brad. But.but (murmuring)”
Brad – “But, if he knows the truth. Or you are thinking that may I use my money power later, to take him back? If that is your problem, half my property is on Jenny’s name. I will talk with the lawyer and make sure that within a week all that is transferred to you. You can go to a far off place from here, but make sure John gets everything”
Fred – “ok Brad, promise me that you will never try to contact me or try to find the child”
Brad – “I do”

As Brad told those two little words, he remembered the day of his marriage. He handed the child to Fred, and went to his mansion. Seven days passed with Brad, talking with lawyer, arranging the transfer of property. After that week , one day, Brad sat on the floor inside his mansion and kept weeping..

North Meets South (Part-7)

He couldn’t study anymore. His mind was roaming around somewhere. He stopped studying and started to focus on what his mind roamed around – It was Amala. Montek called Amala, they spoke for some time, and then Amala proposed again

Amala – “I love you”

Montek – “I love you too”

Amala – “Serious, “

Montek – “Yeah, I love you”

Amala – “But, before you told me”

Montek – “I don’t know, but am feeling it now. I Love you Amala”

Amala – “Say it once again”

Montek – “I love you”

Amala – “Once again”

Montek – “I love you”

Amala – “Once again”

Montek – “I love you”

The whole night, Montek kept on telling it, atleast for a 1000 times. They both didn’t understand how it happened, but it came out instantaneously and at the same time within a few hours gap from the inside of both of them.

The next day, Montek called Upman to his room, and told him the whole matter

Upman – “Look, it’s not possible. You are from north and she is from south. They never meet. Just be good friends”

Montek – “But we can’t. We don't feel like that any more. Also, we can’t live even for a day, without speaking to each other”

Upman – “Look, I will tell Amala to stop speaking with you. Now you too try not to speak with her. Let the feelings go down. Forget her now, or else it would be quite difficult in the future.”

Montek – “Ok, I will try my best”

For two days, Montek and Amala stayed without speaking to each other. And then, they couldn’t. Mobile phones rang and the love birds spoke.

Both of them knew that it will be a very hard thing, convincing their parents. And they love their parents. So they took an oath that they will marry only if the parents from both sides agree. They don’t know how it happened in between them, but a saying about love is apt to their relationship

“Love doesn’t take permission to happen. Love doesn’t need anyone’s consent. It just happens”

Dan didn’t meet Diana any time later, but somehow in his second year, he got her mail ID. Filled with jubilance and anxiety, he sent her a friend request in chat.  One fine day she accepted and Dan started seeing her in his chat list. He then pinged her

Dan – “Hii Diana, how are you?”

Diana – “Who are you?”

Dan tried to explain, but failed as Diana didn’t remember anything.

There are two kinds of people in the world. One who hold their life, and the others who don’t.  Amala and Montek belong to the latter category. In the end, they succeed or not doesn't matter, but watching "Love happen" in today's world and in such a sweet manner is really really cool. Me, being the writer of this blog, feel a lot of jealous about them. But, someday, I too will fall in love (exaggerating - LOL) and it will be the greatest story of my life. Will definitely share with you guys.

And last but not least,

The story is over folks.

North Meets South (Part-6)

Amala and Montek came back to the college in second year. Since each one belonged to a separate branch, they started sitting in different classes, but the messaging continued. No one in NIT cares when some fest or cultural or robotic event happens with in the NIT, but Amala and Montek waited for such events. These were the only moments, they could work together. But both of them never felt the love between them; they just felt that they liked working together. They helped each other whenever they can, with whatever possible means they have.

The semester is about to end, and just like last time, Montek personally dropped Amala in the station. Montek bid alvida and came back to the hostel. After a while Montek’s phone rang,

Montek – “Hey Amala,”

Amala – “ Hey, Montek, can I tell you one thing ?”

Montek – “Sure, anything”

Amala – “I felt like hugging you, when you were leaving me at the station”

Montek – “So,”

Amala – “Do you think, it’s right ? To get a feeling like that ?”

Montek – “Look, I too felt the same. It happens between friends”

Amala – “No Montek, I am not happy. Every time I was going for home, I felt very happy. But not this time”

Montek – “Hey, don’t think too much. Go to home, enjoy and come back”

Amala – “I Love you”

Montek – “What, are you kidding ?”

Amala – “No, I am serious, I love you”

Montek was silent. He did not speak for 20 seconds. He cut the phone. His phone started ringing again

Amala – “Hey, don’t take it serious”

Montek – “No no, I can understand. It happens”

Amala – “So, we are still friends?”

Montek – “Yes”

Amala – “I mean, it just came out, unexpectedly. So.”

Montek – “Hey, don't bother your mind. I say it too Upman all the time, it doesn't mean we are gays. In friendship, these are all common”

Amala was silent for a few seconds,

Amala – “Ok then, will talk to you later”

Montek – “Ok, bye and don’t think too much”

Amala – “Yeah, sure”

Montek has one more exam left, so he started studying, but he couldn't. Some feeling which cannot be told, started lingering his mind..

North Meets South (Part-5)

Cultural fest of the college happened in the second semester. While Dan has a tendency to stay in the room, the rest of the batch, including Noorahur and Amala have the tendency to stay at the institute, talking to each other, going to canteens, working for the fest. Montek and Amala, became more close, sharing their personal life, exchanging messages. An air of closeness has grown between them, and everyday they would exchange atleast 3-4 messages. But they never took it for love. They thought it's just friendship and both of them tried to keep it pure.

Most of the time, the room used to be empty, except for Dan. This gave enough time for Dan, to learn about computers. In the first semester, three of the six people – Upman, Modi and Montek brought the computers and Dan used to play with them to learn about computers. He learnt a lot of tricks, hacking into the institute’s mail directories, trouble shooting the computers. They were not his computers, so there was no problem in experimentation. How much he learnt in first year, can be told with a simple example.

[The next paragraph is about a cool thing did by Dan, but if you are interested in the love story only, you can skip it]

There is a club by the name Microsoft Club. In his second semester, there is an induction of the club, but Dan couldn’t make it through. In the presentation, during the orientation of the club, a prefinal year, Computer Science student, who was the head of the club expressed the inability to give many other free softwares, other than present in the common directory (website)of the institute, simply because place is not sufficient in it. He told that a common web-portal can be formed so that institute users can download many different softwares directly from the directory of Microsoft, or getting the keys of a multitude of Microsoft softwares. But the problem, he couldn’t get institute E-mail id’s of all the people at one place. Circulating a notice through all the departments would be a good idea, but he needs volunteers. Dan, after coming from the orientation, worked on the problem. He called the head of the club in mobile, and told him that within a few minutes, using putty, entering into the institute’s mail directory which is built on unix, he could get all the E-mail id’s -  if needed department wise. Then the head invited Dan to his room, where he demonstrated to him, how it can be done. The result, everyone from first year to final year, got an account, and can use it to retrieve keys to any Microsoft software, including the keys to older versions of Microsoft - Vista, XP and almost all Microsoft softwares like Visio, Project, Studio etc.,

The semester is about to end, while Amala and Montek drew more close to each other. When Amala is about to leave for summer vacation, Montek personally went to the station to give her send off. Waved her bye, and came back to the hostel. Amala went to her home and enjoyed the summer vacation. But both of them didn't think that something is gonna happen in their next semester that is gonna change their lives forever. Thus, the second semester ended

North Meets South (Part-4)

Dan silently stayed in the room, studying most of the time. Listening to the stories of Montek and Upman - about the girls in their classrooms and thinking - How much these people waste time on unnecessary matters. Sheravan, Modi and Akhil used to chit chat along with Upman and Montek for a long time. Sometimes, they used to chit chat for 6-7 hours in a single stretch. But Dan, sitting at a corner used to study for exams. First semester ended. Results are out.

Everyone thought that Dan would be the topper. But it was Upman, the second was Montek. Well, there is one thing for Dan to be happy about. A custom started that throughout the four years, whoever comes first in any semester, he should give party to the rest of the guys in the room. So, Upman became the scape goat of first semester.

Dan couldn’t understand, why his result went down. So, in the second semester, Dan tried to become social. Started helping people. One day, he went to a bank, where there is a old woman, who couldn’t fill the with drawal form. She asked Dan for help. And there is the NRI girl, Diana standing there. Dan took hold of the opportunity, and started a conversation

Dan – “Hey, you are from first year na”

Diana – “Yeah”

Dan gave a moment pause, expecting her to tell her name, so that he could tell his. She didn’t

Dan – “This old lady present here wants me to fill her form, but I can’t understand Odiya, so could you help me?”

Diana – “Yeah sure”

Then the translation happened, slowly, from the old woman to Diana and then from Diana to Dan. The filling of the form is over. Then, Diana went away.

Dan went to the room filled with jubilance to tell his friend’s that he too met a girl. When he entered the room, he overheard them speaking about a girl with dangerous attitude levels. Dan understood that they were talking about the girl he just met. Dan asked what was her name, and Modi – “Her name was Diana”. When Dan told them about what happened just then, they started teasing Dan using the name of Diana. Dan felt good - Now, I am one of them

North Meets South (Part-3)

Montek and Amala used to sit in the same class, but never spoke to each other in the initial days. Montek has a way with girls which attracted many girls, but not Amala till he first spoke to her at a workshop.

The workshop was conducted by one of the NIT clubs inside the NIT itself. When the workshop got over in the evening, everyone went away; but Montek was waiting there for his friend Upman to come, so that both of them can walk together to the hostel. He saw Amala  near him; she too was waiting for someone; then a light bulb glowed in his mind; She was a girl from his class. He went near her..

Montek – “Hey, You are from our class na”

Amala – “Yeah, me Amala”

Montek – “I am Montek. So, how did you feel about the workshop?”

Amala – “Boring, I came for it, just because my friend needs a partner. I particularly have no interest in it”

Montek – “Oh, I see. Tomorrow do we have a class?”

Amala – “Don’t know about it. Someone has to go and ask the professor”

Montek - “oh. Everyone thinks some other person has to go. We need to have a common class representative.”

Amala – “Yeah, so, who do you think will be the right person for it?”

Montek – “I feel Noorahur is the one. But she is a girl, informing to the boys may create some problems”

Amala – “Why not you?”

Montek – “Me, I am just a normal man. But, If everyone in the class wishes, I can take up the mantle”

Amala – “Well, if you keep a voting, I am sure that you will win”

Montek – “Acha..(laughs)”

From somewhere a harsh voice came

Upman – “Montek, let’s go”

Montek – “Hey Upman, this is my classmate Amala, and Amala this is my room mate Upman”

Upman – “Hii”

Amala – “Hii”

Montek – “Ok then, Are you waiting for someone ?”

Amala – “Yeah, but will go to hostel. I don’t think she is gonna come”

Montek – “Ok then, bye”

Amala – “Bye”

Later on, in the class room Amala started talking with Montek. They exchanged phone numbers, and started sending small good night messages to each other. Montek became the CR (Class Representative) of the class, and whenever there is no class, he used to tell the boys himself and for girls he conveyed it through Amala. Soon, they started exchanging frequent messages. Noorahur, who is also in the same class is a good friend to both of them. Upman fell in love with her. To know about the likes/dislikes of Noorahur and getting closer with her Upman became a social person. Upman used to bother Amala a lot, asking about Noorahur; sometimes Montek used to be the victim; although Montek used to tease Upman everyday about it. The three used to go for canteen together. Amala used to tease Upman telling that Noorahur doesn’t like his kind of people, while Upman kept a nickname for her.
